How we publish

Clear about what this site can tell you.

The purpose of this site is to make unfamiliar bankruptcy topics easier to understand. It cannot replace advice about your own situation.

Educational information, not legal advice

Reading these pages, using the calculator, or sending an inquiry does not establish representation. No page promises eligibility, a discharge, protection of property, or any other case outcome. Talk with an attorney before relying on general information for a filing decision.

Who publishes the content?

505 Bankruptcy is a resource from the Law Office of Anita M. Kelley. Articles use the 505 Bankruptcy byline. That byline does not mean Anita personally wrote or reviewed every article. We do not label an article attorney-reviewed unless that review has taken place.

How are articles prepared?

These articles were prepared with AI-assisted drafting and editing. General legal explanations are checked against linked primary sources, such as the U.S. Courts and U.S. Trustee Program. Publication and substantive update dates appear on each article. Editing is not a substitute for an attorney's analysis of a case.

What about the images?

The site's original illustrations were generated with AI and selected for editorial use. They are conceptual scenes, not photographs of the firm's office, clients, or attorney. They do not depict actual case results. These images are not offered under a separate public reuse license; contact the office with questions about using them.

Dates and calculator limits

Law and official data can change. The calculator displays the date through which its saved median data was verified. Dates outside that coverage receive a warning. It does not retrieve new data automatically or complete the official forms.

Corrections and questions

If something appears inaccurate or outdated, send a general question identifying the page and the statement. Please leave out confidential case details. We cannot give an individual legal assessment through an article correction.
